Sunday July 13, 2008 at 1:30 a.m. on Concession 18 of Normanby Twp, several youths attended to a tent located at the rear of one of the youths property. A male had been camping on the property. This male had no permission to be on the property. The group of males entered the bush to look for the male and eventually came upon the camp site. The male confronted the group and told them to get off his property, and at that time the male produced a hand gun and fired a shot into the air. The group of males ran from the area and returned home and called Police. The officer attended and located the male who is known to police and placed the 42 year old Normanby Twp male under arrest. The male swung at the officer striking the officer on his left side. The male started to flee when the officer restrained the male, both the accused and the officer struggled in his attempt to break free the accused and the officer fell to the ground. The group of males assisted the officer and the male was handcuffed and placed in the police car. The male has been charged with Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the public, Escape lawful Custody and Assault with intent to resist arrest. He is being held in Walkerton jail for a bail hearing. He is also wanted by another Police Service. Police did seize several firearms.

Monday July 7, 2008 West Grey Police were conducting a RIDE check on Garafraxa St, S, in the former Town of Durham. At 11:22 p.m. a black Jeep was observed southbound on Garafraxa St approaching the check when it made a sudden turn onto another street. One of the officers proceeded after the Jeep and stopped the driver. A 37 year old West Grey male showed the usual signs of impairment and was arrested and transported to the Police station for breath tests. His readings where twice that of the legal limit. The male was charged and released. He was transported home and will appear in a Walkerton Court
