3:35 a.m. December 2, 2008 West Grey Police arrested a 23 year old Woodstock man on charges of Transportation Fraud and Intoxicated in a Public Place. West Grey Police received a call from a Goderich Taxi company that one of their drivers had dropped off a male person in Durham after being brought from Goderich. The male got out of the taxi in Durham and took off on foot, failing to pay for the $140.00 bill. A patrollling officer located the male on Garafraxa St. N in Durham and arrested him. He was held in custody in the holding cell until sober and was released to appear in court in February 2009.

A 51 year old Southline Glenelg Twp man was arrested and charged after an assault at a neighbourhood Christmas party. On December 27 ,2008 at 5:40 p.m. West Grey Police attended a home on the Southline to investigate an assault. The victim and the home owner had gone outside to clean the walkway when the accused came outside in an intoxicaated state and started to yell at the two men. The accused grabbed the victim and struck him in the face with his fist. The accused took off back to his home. Police attended and arrested the male and charged him with assault. He will appear in court in Walkerton in February 2009.
