On January 8, 9 and 10th, 2009 West Grey Police investigated numerous vehicle thefts and the recovery of two vehicles. On Janaury 9, 2009 Police investigated the theft of a 1994 Dodge pick up, black. The propery owner on Side road 6 Glenelg Twp reported his truck had been taken from the driving shed along with two chainsaws and an air compressor.
On January 9, 2009 West Grey Police reovered a burnt stolen 1990 Chev S-10 pick-up on Side road 6 in Glenelg Twp, the truck had been stolen from Holstein in Southgate Twp. On the stolen truck was four tires/rims that had been stolen from Durham on or about the 8th of January .
On January 10/09 West Grey Police attended to the Glenelg/Holland Townline to a stolen Chrysler Intrepid that had been stolen from Owen Sound, this vehicle had also been burnt.
On January 10/09 West Grey Police attended to Park St. in Durham and recovered a stolen 2004 Ford F-150 pick-up. The truck had been stolen from Listowel the week prior.
On January 9, 2009 West Grey Police investigated the theft of four tires and rims, the tires had been taken off a Jeep parked at the former West End Motors on Garafraxa St S. in Durham, West Grey. This theft is believed to have occurred between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on January 9, 2009. The tires were located on the burnt pick-up located on Sideroad 6 in glenelg Twp
Police are asking for the Public’s assistance in solving these crimes. If anyone has information about these crimes they are asked to contact West Grey Police.
West Grey Police are investigating a rash of Break and enters throughout West Grey. Person(s) unknown have entered a number of sheds and stolen power tools, chain saws, tool boxes and compressors. Police would like to remind the public to lock their sheds and garages and if they notice any suspicious activity around their property to call the police.
Over the past few months license plates have been stolen from pick up trucks in the town of Durham.
