Four members of the West Grey Police Service were recognized by the Governor General of Canada, the Chief of Police, West Grey Mayor and Police Services Board Chair Kevin Eccles and Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch for 20 and 30 years of loyal and exemplary service to law enforcement in Canada. Constable Steven Torry received his 20 year medal, Deputy Chief Robert Thompson, Sergeant Jerry Kocher and Constable Danny Soper each received their 30 year bar from the Governor General of Canada which was presented to the officers by the Chief of Police on the Governor General’s behalf. Bruce-Grey-Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch also presented the officers with a Certificate of Recognition.
