May 24, 2009 West Grey Police were conducting R.I.D.E checks on Grey Road 4. Police checked a Ford Edge during the ride check to find the driver a 37 year old Chatsworth man under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested and transported to the Police station for breath tests. The two tests conducted showed his blood alcohol level was twice that of the legal limit. He will appear in court on June 15, 2009.

32 year old man wiith no fixed address was arrested and charged with bail violation after he was found in a home in Durham. The male had been arrested and charged by West Grey Police on May 6 for Possession of a Controlled Substance and resist arrest along with fail to attend court. He had been released by the courts on these charges, one of his condition of release was that he not attend the home in Durham. The male was held for a bail hearing in Walkerton, were he will appear in a Walkerton court at a later date.

Occurrence Type: BREAK, ENTER AND THEFT ARREST

Two youths face charges of Break, enter and theft. West Grey Police responded to a break and enter in Bentinck Twp.The property owner returned home in the afternoon to find two vehicles parked on the road, the property owner had entered the property to find a cabin had been entered and a large amount of tools taken. Police obtained information for the vehicles that had left the area. A local broadcast was sent out to area police to observe for the vehicles. OPP in Walkerton located one of the vehicles and arrested to driver.The West Grey crime unit was called in to assist with the investigation,a second youth was located and arrested. Both youths were charged and will appear in court in Walkerton. The tools were recovered.
