West Grey Police arrested a 47-year-old woman after she assaulted a 50-year-old common-law spouse on June 28 at a residence on Conc. 12 in Bentinck Township. The accused woman assaulted the man using a paring knife, causing cuts to his hand. The woman also slapped and punched him. The woman was gone when police arrived. On July 2, police arrested the woman, and charged her with assault, assault with a weapon, and possession of a weapon dangerous. She has court on July 26. The victim did not need to receive medical attention for the injuries.

West Grey Police are investigating a break and enter to a residence on Conc. 2 in Bentinck Township. On July 1, at 8pm, West Grey Police were dispatched to a residence in that area. Investigation revealed that someone had entered onto the property and vandalized an older car and construction machinery. A window had been broken on the vehicle, and the vehicle had been vandalized with graffiti. Culprits also entered the house and stole a VCR, and pair of moose antlers and hand tools. West Grey Police conducted four RIDE checks over the week of June 27 to July 3. In total, 461 vehicles were checked. Police charged one driver with driving while suspended, and three different charges were applied under the Highway Traffic Act, along with one three-day suspension.
