On Aug. 24, 2010 as a result of a drug investigation members of the West Grey Police Service, with the assistance of the following services; Royal Canadian Mounted Police, Ontario Provincial Police, Saugeen Shores Police Service, Hanover Police Service and Waterloo Regional Police Service, executed a CDSA (Controlled Drugs and Substances Act) search warrant at a property located on Baseline Rd. in Bentinck Township, Municipality of West Grey.

An outdoor marihuana grow-operation with 11,225 plants was located on the property as well 5,000 marihuana plants were located in a barn on the property. The estimated value of the drugs, if they had made it into the communities, would have been in excess of $16,000,000.00.

Five persons have been arrested and are being held for bail hearings at the Provincial Court in Walkerton. The accused persons have been identified as Denis Brousseau age 54 of West Grey, Susan Brousseau age 49 of Kincardine, Vincent Brousseau age 21 of West Grey, Marc Brousseau age 22 of Kincardine, and Alexandre Brousseau age 20 of Kincardine. They have all been charged with Production of marihuana as well as Possession of marihuana for the purpose of trafficking contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The investigation is continuing.
