West Grey Police Service took part in the National Operation Impact, from Oct. 8-11. In total, West Grey Police Service laid 36 speeding charges, three cell phone charges, and 13 other Highway Traffic Charges. Operation Impact is an enforcement driven initiative designed to increase public compliance with safe driving measures and, ultimately, to save lives. Target enforcement happen within the areas of impaired driving, occupant restraint use, and all aspects related to aggressive driving. The other part was an education campaign addresses the importance of safe drive behavior.

West Grey Police is investigating a theft from a vehicle on Arthur Street in Ayton. The theft occurred sometime overnight Oct. 12-13. Cash ($200), a Blackberry Cell phone, personal identification, credit cards, and personal items were taken from the vehicle. The vehicle was unlocked. West Grey Police Deputy Chief Dan Rioux reminds residents to lock the doors of their vehicles, and keep belongings out of sight.

West Grey Police responded to a call on Oct. 17 at 1 am regarding a domestic disturbance at a residence on the Townsend Lake Road in Glenelg Township. When officers arrived, they saw a female standing outside of the residence and a man was inside. West Grey Police investigating, resulting in a 33-year-old woman being charged with uttering threats. She was arrested and later released with a promise to appear in Walkerton Court on Nov. 29.
