West Grey Police Service arrested a 63-year-old Durham man after he admitted to breaking and entering vehicles. The man was already on conditions of release after committing a similar offence recently. The man was arrested by West Grey Police Service, after investigation into a parking lot on Queen Street in Durham.
Three windows were broken, gaining access to valuables within the vehicle. The victim reported that $100 worth of valuables had been stolen from the vehicle.
The accused had a scheduled court date of Nov. 23. West Grey Police Service is reminding individuals to keep their homes and vehicles locked. Deputy Chief Dan Rioux says that all valuables should be out of sight if they need to be left in vehicles, and all vehicles should be locked. Leaving valuables in plain sight in a vehicle is a crime of opportunity for those who are looking for one. Keys should be removed from vehicles.

West Grey Police Service arrested a 56-year-old man after receiving a report of a possible impaired driver. Police located a 2000 Ford sport utility vehicle in Durham. Police administered a road side screening test, which registered a fail. The accused was taken to the station for breathalyzer tests, where he registered 110 mg and 104 mg. The driver was released on a promise to appear. The vehicle was seized.

Police responded to a call regarding a possible domestic dispute on Nov. 21 at 3:30 pm. Officers arrived at a residence on Elgin Street in Durham, to find that there was no physical assault taking place at the residence, but they did find a quantity of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Two men, ages 28 and 30, were arrested for possession of a controlled substance. They were transported to the police station and released on a promise to appear for court on Dec. 20.

A van was recovered on Concession 11, in Carrick Township, after being reported to WGPS as being stolen on Nov. 16. The vehicle was taken from a residence on Concession 18 in Normanby Township. The vehicle is described as a 2009 Pontiac Montana van. The van was unlocked and the keys had been left in the vehicle. Investigation is still ongoing.
