As 2010 comes to an end I am proud to say that we’ve had a successful year, thanks in large part of the hard work of our members and support from the Police Services Board, Municipal Council, the residents of West Grey, our law enforcement partners, emergency services and support groups, just to name a few.
Over the last year the West Grey Police Service has focused on traffic enforcement, property crimes and drugs, issues that a majority of residents say are their greatest safety concern. We have also increased our community service initiatives, one of which was the introduction of the D.A.R.E. program (Drug Abuse Resistance Education) into our schools.
What are my plans for 2011? In many ways, the same as in the past, to remain focused on our Community Policing initiatives, monitor and address concerns raised by the residents of West Grey, and remain focused on our Mission and Vision Statements. To make this happen though we need to work effectively with our partners, which include the community, support groups and other stakeholders. I continue to welcome input from anyone who feels we could do more or should change to better serve the citizens of West Grey.
I look forward to maintaining the positive relationship we have with the residents of West Grey.
All the Best to you all in 2011.
