West Grey – WGPS was called to a residence on George Street in Durham, after receiving a report of a domestic assault. The incident occurred on March 17 at 6pm. Police investigation determined the 34-year-old partner of a 25-year-old had assaulted the girl after an argument. Further investigation determined that after the man assaulted the female, he got into a vehicle, and drove the vehicle towards the woman while she was holding a child. The woman was able to get out of the way of the moving vehicle, causing the car to strike another vehicle. The man was arrested and charged with assault, uttering threats, mischief, and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle. He is scheduled to appear in court on March 28.

Details

WGPS arrested an 18-year-old man after he repeatedly struck a 50-year-old man.
WGPS responded on March 23 at 8:30pm. The two men engaged in an argument, which resulted in the younger man assaulting the 50-year-old. Police investigation determined the 18-year-old was a friend of the older man’s son. The 18-year-old accused repeatedly punched and kicked the victim, who suffered scrapes, bruises, and minor cuts as a result. The victim fled from the scene, to a nearby neighbor’s house, where he called for help. He did not require any medical attention. The 18-year-old was arrested and charged with assault. He was released on a promise to appear for court on April 18.

Details

WGPS responded to a call regarding a break, enter, and theft to a residence on Grey Road 9 in the former Normanby Township. The theft happened sometime between 7pm and 10am, overnight March 21-22. The suspect had driven through a locked gate, and gained access to buildings on the premises, and stole numerous items. These included a John Deere Riding Lawn Mower, a Gallagher electric fencing unit, Briggs and Stratton rototiller. Estimating value of the items stolen is $2,800. A 32-year-old man was arrested as a result of police investigation. He was charged with break, enter, and theft, and was released on an officer in charge undertaking, with a court date of May 2.

Occurrence Type: Warrant Leads To Drug Charges

Details

During the execution of a search warrant to a residence in Neustadt, WGPS found a small quantity of marijuana in the residence. Police arrested a 27-year-old woman and a 32-year-old man in relation to the incident. The woman was charged with possession of a controlled substance. The man was also charged with possession of a controlled substance, as well as breach of probation in relation to a previous charge of break, enter, and theft.

WGPS is asking the public to come forward with any information in relation to the theft of money from a donation box at the Durham Medical Clinic. The donation box was for the Durham Medical Clinic Foundation. The description of the suspect is; a male, with a beard, using a cane, wearing a dark jacket. The incident happened on March 25.
