Members of the WGPS were conducting R.I.D.E. checks at the intersection of Garafraxa and Lambton is Durham on May 21. At 2:08am they stopped an eastbound Volkswagen. The driver was a 17-year-old female from Owen Sound. A roadside screening device was administered, resulting in a fail. The youth was arrested for operating a motor vehicle over the legal limit and was taken to the WGPS station for breath tests, where she registered 130 and 120mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood. The young person was subsequently charged with Operate Over 80mg under the Criminal Code and was released on a Promise to Appear for Youth Court Walkerton on
June 27. The young person’s driver’s license was suspended for 90 days and the motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

Details

On 21 May at 11am, West Grey officers attended a residence on Durham Road East in Durham. Sometime during the preceding day unknown suspects entered the property, which is being developed as a new subdivision, and cut off and stole approximately 70 feet of copper wire from a catch basin. Police are continuing their investigation and request that anyone with information concerning this or any other crime contact the WGPS or Crime Stoppers.
