Occurrence Number: GR – 65

Details

The OPP’s West Region Headquarters issued a news release late Monday afternoon asking for the public’s assistance is locating Dennis Jerry Wihnon, 29, who is wanted by the West Grey Police Service on charges of flight from police, dangerous driving and drug trafficking. He is also wanted by the OPP for being unlawfully at large, breach of probation, assault and fail to attend court. He is wanted by Toronto Police for drug and firearm offences. Sgt. David Rektor of the Western Region OPP said there is the possibility he is in the West Grey area and if he is seen, police should be contacted and no attempt should be made to apprehend him. “He has connections there and south of there,” said Rekto. “He could be anywhere from London up into (the west Grey) area, but there is also some connections is the GTA as well.” Rektor said the man is considered dangerous because he has been known to carry a firearm and faces assault charges. “The activity he has been in alone certainly lends itself towards somebody who is dangerous to the public and not somebody we would want anybody to just go up and try to apprehend by themselves,” said Rektor. Rektor said police have exhausted their efforts to locate Wihnon and are now appealing to the public to find him. Wihnon is described as a white male, five feet, 10 inches, 160 pounds, with spiked brown, short hair and hazel eyes. He may be sporting a goatee as well. He has tattoos on his middle back and right back of Chinese art and dragon. He also goes by several aliases including Brian Wihnon, Dennis Cailloux and Jessie Hutchinson.
