The West Grey Police Service is now equipped with an
L-1 Electronic Fingerprint Scanner and can offer this service effective
Monday, August 6, 2012 to people who require Vulnerable Sector Criminal Records Screening. The new system will virtually eliminate the long wait times presently experienced when using traditional paper-ink fingerprint.

Through this new system results are usually returned within 7 working days as compared to the present three to six month wait.

All Vulnerable Sector Screening applicants who reside in West Grey will be required to use this new system. The service will also be offered to residents from other municipalities as well as any person who has been “flagged” on the older system.

The fee schedule for this service can be found on our website at www.westgreypolice.ca

Applications should be downloaded and printed off from our website, properly completed and brought with the applicant when attending the station for printing. The applicant must also remember to bring 2 pieces of identification as outlined on the web site directions.

This new fingerprint service will be available at the West Grey Police Station located at 153 George St. W. in Durham every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The process will take approximately 15 minutes and we recommend you call for an appointment to guarantee your spot. Walk-ins will be accepted and processed on a first come first served basis.

If you are unable to attend during the regular dates and times simply call the West Grey Police Service Mondays to Fridays during regular buisness hours (8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.) and a suitable appointment time can be arranged.
