Two men were charged with mischief under $5,000 after an incident where the back window of a vehicle was smashed and the driver’s side window as well. The incident happened on Mill Street in Durham. Charged is an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man. The estimated cost is $1,400. They were released on a promise to appear with an officer in charge undertaking. They have a court date of November 5 in Walkerton.

Police are investigating a theft from a shed that happened at a residence on the 5th Side Road in Bentinck township. It happened on September 12. Stolen was a 2008 ATV. Occurrence Type: STOLEN TAILGATE

West Grey police are investigating the theft of a tailgate from a truck parked on Elm Street in Durham. The tailgate was taken from a 1990 GMC dark blue pick-up truck. The tailgate had a decal on it. Occurrence Type: STOLEN GOOD WILL

Details
West Grey police received a report of a large number of cans stolen from a residence on Arthur Street in Ayton. The cans were being collected for a Hanover man cashing in the cans to save money for a new artificial leg. The cans amounted to an approximate $150 value. They were on the front lawn of the residence. Neighbours observed the theft but were unable to secure a licence plate number. Neighbours describe the vehicle as being a late model Hyundai truck. Occurrence Type: WEST GREY HOSTING AUCTION

The West Grey Police Service will be holding a public auction on Saturday starting at 11 am. It will be held at the parking lot of the Durham Community Centre located at 451 Saddler Street West in Durham. Items include camcorders, VHS machines, CDs, Xbox games, helmets, DVD system, a sawzall, DVDs, tools, golf clubs, GPS systems, an axe, miscellaneous tools, a skateboard, hand saws, an electronic scale, scanners, a two way radio, camouflage chairs, an Xbox360 and games, a camera, a Eureka vacuum, a paddle game, a Skil drill, a weed eater, a chain saw, a lion statue, guitar, inflatable raft, and several bikes. All sales are final. Payment must be made in cash or by cheque with appropriate government issued photo identification.
