A two-year-old has succumbed to injuries suffered in a farm accident two weeks ago. West Grey Police responded to a farm accident report in Normanby Township at 9 a.m. Oct. 25 where a feeder cart struck the boy. He was transported to a London Hospital with critical injuries by air ambulance. West Grey Police Chief Rene Berger confirmed Tuesday morning that the boy had passed away Monday. Police were investigating the incident and will not be laying any charges.

A domestic dispute on Halloween ended with a fractured knee and a man in jail. Last Wednesday, a 54-year-old West Grey man was arrested and charged with one count of assault bodily harm as a result of a Domestic Dispute that occurred at a residence on Grey Road 3. The accused and the victim had an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. The victim was thrown to the ground and suffered a fractured knee. The accused was later arrested in the early morning hours last Thursday and held over for a bail hearing at Walkerton Court.

West Grey Police Service is investigating a theft from an Ayton business. Police were dispatched Friday to a business located on Victoria Street in Ayton regarding the theft of tires and rims. The victim reported sometime overnight an unknown suspect(s) entered a trailer on the property (car repair garage) by cutting the lock and stealing: Cooper MNS tires 285x75x16, 5-spoke aluminum rims, Nixen tires, unknown make of tires. The value of the stolen goods is estimated at $3,000. The next day, the West Grey Police Service were dispatched to a business located on Grey Road 4 in Bentinck Township regarding theft of the following items: Eight rims and tires off two Cadillac Devilles (the size of the rims are 16 x 7), one set (four total) of hub caps from a GMC truck, one set (four total) of hub caps from a Chevy truck. The victim also stated four rims and tires from a GMC Yukon were also stolen the week prior. Total value of property stolen is estimated at $4,000. If anyone has any information regarding these thefts, they are asked to contact the West Grey Police Service or Crime Stoppers.
