A 32-year-old Kitchener man was busted by police travelling 183 km/h in a posted 80 km/h zone. He was travelling west bound on Grey County Road 4 Sunday when he was clocked by police going more than 100 km/h faster than the speed limit. The accused tried evade police and park in a driveway, but over shot the drive way and drove into the ditch and hit a hydro pole. He was arrested and charged with operate over 80 mg and dangerous driving. He was also charged with stunt driving under the Highway Traffic Act. The accused’s vehicle, a Volkswagon sport utility vehicle, received minor damage as a result. It was impounded for seven days. He was released on a promise to appear with an April 8 court date.

Details

Two RIDE programs operated by the West Grey Police Service recently, with neither leading to any charges. On March 13, police conducted RIDE on Garafraxa Street South and Elm Street. No tests were administered and no charges were laid. One Highway Traffic Act warning was given during Sunday night’s RIDE program conducted on Garafraxa Street at the Beer store in Durham.
