Details
On May 29th, the West Grey Police Service investigated two fraud complaints where both complainants’s received letters indicating that they had been selected to be a mystery shopper.
The complainant’s were given instructions to attend various locations and financial institutions to evaluate them. The complainant’s also received legitimate looking-like cheques for a substantial amount of money and to do some shopping with the money and keep the items. They were also supposed to do a Money-gram or Western Union transaction for a large amount of money. The persons would deposit the cheque into their accounts and perform the task and the cheque would eventually come back as no such account.
The West Grey Police Service would like to advise the public not to have any interaction with these people.

Details
Last Thursday, officers conducted RIDE checks on Garafraxa Street South in Durham. Several vehicles were checked with zero violations.
Last Friday, officers conducted RIDE checks at Road 49 in Normanby Township. Several vehicles were checked with zero violations.
