An investigation by the West Grey Police Service into allegations of inappropriate touching of a young person at a West Grey school has resulted in charges being laid against another young person. The name of the accused is not being released due to provisions under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
The West Grey Police would like to remind parents, teachers and caregivers of young people to speak to them reminding them they should not be afraid to report sexting, inappropriate touching or bullying or reporting witnessing similar behavior towards others to you, another trusting adult, teacher or police.

Occurrence Type: Break, Enter & Theft

On Thursday April 17, 2014 West Grey Police Service were called to investigate a break and enter located on a property on Concession 2 WGR in Normanby Township. Investigation reveals that unknown suspect(s) entered a shed and stole a 1978 White 2105 2WD tractor with a cab on it with a snow blower attached to it. The white tractor with snow blower attachment was later recovered the next day on a single lane roadway ( Baseline Road extension at Concession 2 WGR Normanby Township.) Other items stolen that have not been recovered are: Orange/white Stihl 028 chainsaw valued at $ 300, Orange/white Stihl 034 Chainsaw valued at $300. If anyone has any information regarding this theft, they are asked to contact the West Grey Police Service or Crimestoppers

On Monday April 21, 2014 West Grey Police service were dispatched to a business located on Concession 2 SDR regarding a Break and Enter. Police attended and were advised that sometime during 4:00pm- on Thursday April 17, 2014- 7:00AM On Monday April 22, 2014 unknown suspect(s) broke into the business and stole a black flat screen Acer computer monitor valued at $100, black Samsung digital camera valued at $50, dark grey Acer lap top valued at $400, and approximately $6.00 in loose change. There are no suspects at this time.

On Saturday April 26, 2014 at 11:50am Members of the West Grey Police along with the Ministry of Natural Resources were on routine patrol during the annual opening day of the 2014 fishing season.
