Occurrence Type: Assault with a Weapon
Details
On Thursday 14 January 2016, in the late afternoon the West Grey Police service responded to a call from the CAS concerning a young couple with an infant child in the Town of Durham. The resulting investigation determined there were no injuries to the young female adult and her infant child. The common-law adult male was arrested on charges of utter death threats (3 counts), assault, assault with a weapon, weapons dangerous and mischief to property (2 counts). The accused was held for a Friday morning bail hearing at the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton. He was released with conditions and immediately arrested on outstanding warrants held by the Ontario Provincial Police and detained for a Wellington County bail hearing.

Details
On Thursday 14 January 2016, in the late evening hours the West Grey Police responded and assisted area fire departments with a barn fire in the former Normanby Township. It was initially reported to Police that 14 horses had died in the blaze. The barn was destroyed.

Occurrence Type: Motor Vehicl Collisions
Details
Between Tuesday 12 January 2016 and Friday 15 January 2016, the West Grey Police Service responded to 13 motor vehicle collisions of varying severity. Winter is upon us, driving and road conditions can change in an instant. The West Grey Police Service cautions all users of the Municipality’s roads to be cognizant of the environment, determine whether the trip is necessary and drive accordingly.

Occurrence Type: Impaired Driver
Details
On Sunday 17 January 2016, in the afternoon the West Grey Police attended on Highway 6 near Grey Road 9 and assisted the OPP with a motor vehicle collision. A male was arrested by the OPP and transported to the West Grey Police Station were breathalyzer tests were conducted and the male was charged by the OPP with impaired operation of a motor vehicle and over 80.
