At a regular meeting held by the West Grey Police Service Board earlier this week, Chief Rene Berger announced that he will be retiring effective August 31, 2016.
Berger has been Chief of the West Grey Police Service for the past 11 ½ years. His tenure in policing dates back to 1979 and includes Meaford Police, Thornbury Police, Durham Police, Hanover Police, Chatham-Kent Police and West Grey Police Service.
