Details
On February 27, 2016 Hanover Police Service took a report of a missing 15 year old female. A business owner in Neustadt located a suspicious vehicle parked behind his business with an unknown male sleeping in the driver’s seat of the vehicle. Officers from WGPS attended and located the missing 15 year old female sleeping in the back of the vehicle. The female was taken home to Hanover.

Occurrence Type: Motor Vehicle Collisions
Details
On March 1 and the early morning hours of March 2, 2016 WGPS attended numerous motor vehicle collisions and vehicles as a result of a significant sudden accumulation of snow. There were not any reports of injuries. Police remind the public to drive according to the conditions and to stay off the roadways during inclement weather.

Occurrence Type: Fraud
Details
A local resident of West Grey was contacted on approximately 11 occasions between February 2- 29, 2016 by people claiming to be from Canadian Revenue Agency. The resident was advised that he owed a significant amount of money to the CRA and to avoid being arrested and charged by RCMP he was to transfer money immediately. The resident made over 11 transactions resulting in an excess of $38,000 being transferred to overseas scammers. Residents are reminded to never transfer money to anyone without first confirming the legitimacy of the recipient and to never divulge personal information to anyone over the phone.

Details
Hanover Police Service arrested a male in Hanover who was wanted by West Grey Police Service for Theft of a Credit Card. The male in his 20’s was held in custody for a bail hearing.

Occurrence Type: Compliance Check
Details
Officers from WGPS attended a residence in Durham to conduct a compliance check on a 23 year old male with an extensive criminal record who was released on numerous charges from Grey County OPP and was to remain in his residence 24 hours a day. Officers attended and spoke with the male’s mother who was also his surety and she advised officers that she did not know where he was and that he was not in the residence. His mother was attending court the following day to revoke her surety and a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
