Between Nov. 3 and Nov. 16, 2016 a recreational trailer was broken into on Durham Road East in Durham.
On Nov. 22, 2016 at 7:26 p.m. police attempted to recover a stolen white pickup truck that was refueling at a gas station on Garafraxa St. S. in Durham. The driver fled in the vehicle and police began to pursue the vehicle, however after a short period of time police terminated it due to public safety concerns.
On Nov. 23, 2016 at 10:52 a.m. police received a report of a suspicious vehicle stuck on the Normanby-Bentinck Townline. West Grey Police Service officers assisted by Hanover Police Service officers attended and arrested Joel Steffler age 36 of Walkerton. He was subsequently charged with theft under, dangerous driving, flight from police, drive while disqualified, possession of property obtained by crime over $5000.00, possession of property obtained by crime under $5000.00, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm while prohibited (2 counts), possession of ammunition while prohibited, unsafe transportation of a firearm, unauthorized possession of a firearm in a motor vehicle, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, drive while disqualified, and possession of a controlled substance (2 counts).
