During the period of November 27 2016 to December 4 2016 members of the West Grey Police Service              responded to 58 calls for service.

-POLICE responded to 6 motor vehicle collisions during that time period with minor injuries being      reported at some of them. POLICE would like to remind drivers that this is the time of the year to slow down and drive according to conditions. When faced with severe winter weather please ask yourself if you really need to be on the highway before you leave home.

POLICE have begun the festive season RIDE enforcement checks in West Grey and have conducted a number of RIDE checks already. All drivers checked were found to be in compliance with the Criminal Code and the Ontario Highway Traffic Act.

On November 29 2016 POLICE were called to attend a residence in Bentinck Tp regarding an assault. POLICE were met by a number of intoxicated persons at an “after’ Christmas party. The victim of the assault declined to press charges.

Police are investigating a number of break and enters that have taken place in and around the Town of Durham. Anyone with information is requested to contact the West Grey Police or Crime Stoppers.

On November 30 2016 police were called to a residence in Normanby Tp regarding a male who had sent suicidal texts. The male was spoken to by police and deemed not to be a threat to himself or others.

On December 3 2016 POLICE were called to a residence in Glenelg Tp regarding a suicidal male. Police with assistance from the Mental Health Urgent Response Team were able to refer the male for counselling and follow-up.
