Between September 3rd to September 9th the West Grey Police Service responded to 87 calls for service.

 

Break and Enter

Sometime between August 29th to September 7th a Break and Enter occurred at an address on Grey Road 4 in the former Township of Bentinck.  The residence was entered through a window, once inside of the residence the thief or thieves  stole jewelry, money (change/coins), two cell phones, guitar, amplifier, foot petal for guitar, guitar case stolen. Breach of Probation / Domestic Assault

On Friday 7th September 2018 police were advised to attend an address in the Town of Durham within the Municipality of West Grey regarding a Domestic Assault. The investigation determined this was a verbal dispute / argument. However, the male accused was charged with several counts of Breach of Probation, one being, no communication with the other involved party. The accused was held for a bail hearing at the Walkerton Courthouse.

Mischief

On Saturday 8th September 2018 police were advised to attend an address on Glenelg-Southgate Townline in the Former Township of Glenelg regarding mischief done to a mailbox.  The investigation determined fire was set to a mailbox, totally destroying the mailbox.  Luckily the fire didn’t spread to any other property.  This investigation is on-going and anyone with information is being asked to call the West Grey Police Service at 519-371-6911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
