Occurrence type: Attempt break and enter

 

On Tuesday evening at approximately 9:50pm an employee at the Klemmer Saw Mill in Bentinck was alerted by his dog to activity on the property. The victim went outside, noticed a male at a side entrance door. He yelled at the male who then ran towards the victim swinging and unknown object striking the victim in the hand as he protected his head. A second male ran from an alcove, and the two culprits ran in a southerly direction into a swampy area. The victim called police and illuminated the area the culprits were last seen. Prior to police arrival the victim heard what sounded like an older, unmaintained truck start up and flee the area.

 

The culprits were described as young males in their twenties, under 6’ tall, slender and both wore hoodies. One possibly had light coloured hair.

 

The victim sustained minor abrasions to his hand and no entry was gained to the premise.

Occurrence type: Mental Health Act

 

During the week of 10 – 16 Sept 2018, the West Grey Police attended on 6 calls wherein people were struggling with mental health issues. These occurrences are frequent and those suffering often are unable to seek the help required. Family members and friends can assist by speaking with and or attending with the victims to meet health care professionals.
