Assault

 

On Friday April 12th, 2019 West Grey Police were advised of an assault that had occurred. Subsequent to police investigation, a 42 yr old West Grey man was arrested and charged.  The accused was processed and released on conditions not to contact the victim or attend anywhere she could reasonably be expected to be.  His first appearance in court will be in May at the Walkerton Courthouse.

 

Impaired Driving

 

West Grey Police Service charged two West Grey men with Impaired Driving offences over the past week.  In both cases the men had their vehicles impounded and their licenses automatically suspended for 90 days.  They were issued first appearance dates at Walkerton court.  This is a sobering reminder that people continue to make poor decisions around drinking alcohol and then driving. Together with our partners and our community, we are not giving up in our fight against impaired driving. If you suspect someone of being impaired while driving, please call 911 immediately.

 

 

Mischief

 

On April 13th, 2019 police were dispatched to an address on Grey Road 3 in the former Normanby Township after an insult to the landlord was spray painted on a garage door by an unknown culprit. Police have canvassed the neighborhood and are continuing to investigate. Suspicious Vehicle

 

On April 13th, 2019 officers on patrol observed a vehicle parked off Garafraxa Street North very close to the intersection.  Closer inspection of the vehicle revealed there were two different license plates on the vehicle and neither was registered to the vehicle.  Investigation determined that the vehicle had been sold but the buyer did not register the purchase.  The unauthorized plates were removed and the vehicle was towed.  The next day unknown person(s) removed the vehicle from the tow yard without contacting the tow operator.  Police are interested in locating the Orange 2008 Dodge Caravan and its driver.  If you have any pertinent information please call the West Grey Police Service at 519-371-6911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.

 

Suspended Driver

 

On April 14th, 2019 an officer on patrol observed a vehicle swerving and crossing the center line of the roadway.  A traffic stop was conducted and the driver was found to be driving with a suspended license.  The driver was issued a notice of suspension and provided a court date where he will answer to the charge of driving while being under suspension.
