West Grey Police recover stolen pickup truck
On Tuesday June 25th, 2019 police received report of a stolen vehicle from Bruce Road 10 in the Bentick area. The victim reports that at approximately 3:18am, two unknown persons attended the address and stole a blue 2001 Dodge extended cab pickup truck. The truck is described as a diesel 4×4 with dual rear tires and has a 5th wheel attachment. The truck has a loud aftermarket exhaust with a hard blue sunshade which extends past the windshield. The pickup also had window vent shades and blue running boards which went the length of the vehicle.
On Wednesday June 26th, 2019 at approximately 7:25am, police spotted the stolen vehicle parked at a home on Elgin Street South in Durham. The vehicle was contained and confirmed to be the pickup truck that had been reported to police as stolen the day before. Police were able to identify persons at the residence in which the vehicle was found and located a male who is known to police and who was already wanted for Assault, Obstruct peace officer, Failing to comply with Recognizance and five counts of Failing to appear. Subsequent to the police investigation, a 29 year old Durham resident was arrested and charged with being in possession of stolen property. The accused is being held for a bail hearing out of the Walkerton Courthouse.
