At approximately 5:39am on Tuesday the 13th day of August 2019, police received reports that a Ford Escape had been stolen overnight from a Concession 2 WGR residence.  Later in the day at approximately 1:00pm, it was reported to police that a vehicle was on fire in a field on the South side of Concession 6 about 600 meters East of Sideroad 40 in Glenelg.

The Grey Highlands Fire Department attended to find the vehicle had been completely consumed by fire and extinguished the remaining flames. After the vehicle was safe to approach, police were able to confirm that this was in fact the vehicle that had been reported stolen earlier in the day. The vehicle was in an area where there were numerous trails wide enough for a vehicle to drive down. It would appear that the occupant(s) drove around the woods on these trail prior to the fire. The West Grey Fire Department attended to assist in the investigation and had the vehicle towed away.
