On September 30 police attended a residence to conduct a compliance check on a charged person. The individual was found to be in breach of a condition of their release. The person attended West Grey Police Service the same day and was charged with Failing to Comply with a Recognizance. They were held for bail and subsequently released.
Sometime over the weekend unknown culprits damaged or destroyed multiple mailboxes in the former Bentinck township The owners suffered losses totaling almost $500.00 as a result of these senseless acts of mischief. It is the time of year when the local deer population is more active. West Grey Police investigated several collisions involving deer over the past week. Motorists are asked to be aware of their surroundings and watchful of deer entering roadways from open fields and tree lines alike.
West Grey Police Service made an arrest in relation to a shoplifting incident caught on camera at the LCBO in Durham, The accused was released on a promise to appear and conditions to not attend the LCBO in Durham.
There were two reported thefts last week, one of a trail camera from a property on Concession 6 NDR and one of a woodsplitter from a property on Grey Road 3. There are no suspects in either incident at this time. If you have any information please call West Grey Police or Crimestoppers.
A person wanted for Failing to Comply with Conditions of an Undertaking was arrested over the weekend and that individual remains in custody.
An associate of the person above was arrested on outstanding warrants for Theft of Motor Vehicle and Trespassing at Night. That individual was released on a recognizance of bail with conditions and a court date after a bail hearing.
