Hit and Run
On the 31st of October 2019 a woman driving a small black car backed into a parked vehicle in front of Shyleys Restaurant at 350 Garafraxa Street South in Durham. The woman went into Shyleys Restaurant and located the owner of the parked vehicle. The woman did not provide her insurance information and left saying she would return in an hour. The woman did not return. Police are requesting the public assistance in locating this woman. Her vehicle would have damage to the right rear corner. The woman would be in her 50’s to 60’s , medium build with short grey hair and glasses wearing a long blue coat with a bright yellow lining
Mischief
On Sunday November 3rd 2019, police were called to attend Baptist Church Road near Northline road where four mailboxes had been damaged overnight. Police are attempting to identify suspects who and are asking anyone with surveillance footage to review it. This investigation is ongoing and anyone with information is asked to call the West Grey Police Service at 519-371-6911 or Crime Stoppers.
Motor Vehicle Collisions
In the past seven days, fourteen motor vehicle collisions have been reported to the West Grey Police Service. Police are reminding the public to drive with extra caution and to give themselves extra time to get to their destination. Wild life have a high presence this time of year and being aware of your surroundings is essential to a safe arrival.
Coffee with a Cop
On November 18th 2019, the West Grey Police Service will be hosting a Coffee with a Cop event that the Tim Hortons in Durham. Members of the public are invited to have a free small coffee courtesy of Tim Hortons and discuss community concerns with Chief Martin. We want to hear your voice! Police will be available from 10am to 11am.
