Novice Driver B.A.C over zero

In the early hours of Saturday November 30th 2019, West Grey Police officers had been conducting a RIDE program when a G2 driver was intercepted. The driver smelt of alcohol and was ordered to provide a breath sample at the roadside. The driver registered a reading of 29 milligrams of alcohol per 100 milliliters of blood. Further, the driver was only 18 years of age and due to both the class of licence that he held and his age, there is a zero tolerance for alcohol to be in the drivers system. Consequently, the driver was issued a provincial offence notice along with an automatic three day licence suspension and his vehicle was towed off of the roadway. The West Grey Police Service will continue to combat impaired driving and a high volume of RIDE programs should be expected over the holiday season.
