Recovered stolen snowmobile
On Saturday February 15th, 2020, West Grey Police officers were on patrol when they observed a snowmobile parked at a Mary Street address. The officers recognized the snowmobile to be one which had been reported stolen. Further investigation revealed that a 40 year old West Grey man was in possession of the snowmobile and he was subsequently arrested. The man was already on several forms of release for other charges and was consequently put before the courts on February 16th 2020 where he was remanded in custody.

Uttering threats / Causing a disturbance

On Sunday February 16th a man attended the Durham hospital and became verbally aggressive towards hospital staff. Luckily, an off-duty West Grey officer was at the hospital and was able to gain control of the man until on duty officers arrived. Subsequent to investigation, a 31 year old Durham man was arrested and charged with one count of Causing a disturbance and one count of Uttering threats. The accused was brought to the West Grey police station where he was processed and released with an April 8th 2020 court date where he will answer to the charges out of the Walkerton Courthouse.
Mischief
On the 11th day of February 2020, police were contacted for reports of graffiti having been found spray painted on the wooded walking bridge near Garafraxa Street South. The graffiti had explicit messaging and police are searching for the public’s help to find the culprit. Fail to remain collision
On Sunday the 16th day of February 2020, West Grey police received report of damage to a guard rail on Grey Road 9 near Baseline Road. Upon police arrival, a broken grey bumper was recovered and significant damage was observed to the guard rail. Later on in the night, officers located an abandoned white and grey SUV on Baseline Road which had sustained damage matching that of the recovered bumper. It is believed that the incident occurred somewhere between 4:40pm and 6:00pm. Police are asking anyone who may have security cameras pointing towards the roadway to review them and contact the West Grey Police Service at 519-371-6911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS should you have any information.

Stolen Snowmobile
On Thursday February 13th 2020 at approximately 2:00a.m culprit(s) stole a yellow 1994 Ski-Doo MXZ from a Country Lane Road address in Elmwood. Investigation shows that the culprit(s) left in the direction of the town of Hanover. Police are seeking assistance from the public in locating the stolen snowmobile and anyone with information is asked to call the West Grey Police Service at 519-371-6911 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS should you wish to remain anonymous.
Polar Plunge
