On March 21, 2020 West Grey Police officers responded to a 911 call for a family dispute. A West Grey resident was arrested, charged with assault and released with conditions not to contact the victim. He will appear in court in June.
On March 21, 2020 West Grey Police Service officers were called to attend an address outside of Durham for a possible impaired driving incident. A male party was arrested, transported to the station for breath tests and subsequently charged with impaired driving offences. He was released and will appear in court in June to answer to the charges.
Shortly afterward, West Grey Police were dispatched to an ATV rollover. It was determined that alcohol might be a factor in the collision so after being treated for minor injuries the ATV driver was arrested and transported to the Hanover police station where breath tests were conducted. The results of the tests led to charges of impaired operation . The driver was released with a June court date.
On March 26, 2020 a citizen driving by advised West Grey Police of a break and enter at a local rural church. The front door was kicked in however nothing appeared to be missing. Evidence was collected at the scene. There are no suspects at this time.
