On April 26, 2020 at approximately 1630 hrs West Grey Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on the Southgate- Glenelg Townline. Investigation revealed the driver of the vehicle to be under the influence of alcohol.
The 47 year old male was arrested, charged and released with a June court date when he will answer to charges of Impaired Operation, Impaired Operation over 80 and he was also charged with driving while under suspension.
On April 26, 2020 at approximately 0630 hrs West Grey Police were advised of a theft from a construction site on Mulock Road. The complainant di9d hear a vehicle on the property at around 0300hrs. This theft remains under investigation.
On April 26, 2020 West Grey Police were contacted about an attempt to steal fam fencing on Road 49 sometime the previous night. As nothing was taken, police noted the incident and will increase patrols in the area.
On April 26, 2020 at approximately 0438 hrs West Grey Police located a female party on Garafraxa St S. Officers recognized the 31 year old of no fixed address and confirmed West Grey PS had a warrant for her arrest.
She was arrested and later released with a July court date to answer to charges stemming from incidents in June and September of 2019.
On Monday April 27th, 2020 at approximately 5:00pm police investigated a male party on Garafraxa St in relation to an unrelated incident.
Police found in his possession a large amount of methamphetamine and fentanyl, digital scales and other drug paraphernalia.
A 30 y/o male from Durham has been charged with two counts of possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking. The male was rheld for a bail hearing. He was remanded into custody where he remains at the time of this release,.
On Monday April 27th, 2020 police responded to a Garafraxa St. apartment in the town of Durham in relation to an assault. Police arrived on scene while numerous unwanted parties were at the residence.
Investigation determined that a 40 y/o West Grey female had assaulted the home owner then entered the residence without consent. The female victim suffered minor injuries and did not require medical attention.
The accused was charged with assault and break & enter, she was released on an Appearance Notice with conditions and a court date in July.
On Monday April 27, 2020 at approximately 3:00pm, a male party was walking on Garafraxa St in the Town of Durham. The male was confronted by two other parties who attacked the victim using a number of a weapons to cause extensive injuries to the victim. Police arrested both parties at the scene.
EMS attended and assisted with the victim who was later transported by air ambulance to a London Hospital with head injuries.
Two male young offenders have been charged with aggravated assault, assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, fail to comply with youth sentence. Both accused parties were held in custody for a bail hearing. They were remanded and remain in custody at the time of this release.
On Wednesday April 29, 2020 police responded to a reported theft from the Beer Store in Durham. Police quickly located the suspect with the stolen cans of Laker beer. He was charged accordingly and released with a court date in July where he will answer to the charge.
