On May 23, 2020 at 06:30 a.m. West Grey Police officers were dispatched to an address on Concession 8 near Ayton. A 2019 Can An XXC ATV was stolen after the door to the garage of the residence was entered. The culprit left on the ATV through the roll up garage door and headed west then north on Sideroad 20. On May 23, 2020 West Grey Police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on the Normanby-Bentinck Townline. The vehicle driver, a 55 year old West Grey resident, was arrested at the scene and subsequently charged with Impaired Operation causing bodily harm and Driving with a BAC over 80mgs. He was released to appear in court in July to answer to the charges. A female passenger in the vehicle at the time of the collision was treated for minor injuries, while a male passenger suffered no injuries.
On May 24, 2020 West Grey Police Service responded to an address on McFarlin Drive where unknown culprit(s) jacked up the driver’s side of a 2019 Ford F150 pickup and proceeded to steal the tires, rims and lugnuts. There were no witnesses and no other properties in the immediate area reported any unusual activity.

On May 25, 2020 at approximately 6:20 a.m. a black, enclosed V neck trailer was stolen from an address in Varney. The thieves were quite bold and a witness, who was unaware he was watching a crime in progress, saw them hook the trailer up to a Black Ford F150 and then drive northbound on Highway 6. A nearby camera caught footage of the suspect vehicle and police are working to make an identification of the vehicle and occupants.
On May 27, 2020 police were dispatched to Queen St S in Durham reading an indecent act in front of a number of people. A male party was located was located, arrested and charged. The 28 year old was released to appear in court in August to answer to the charges of committing an Indecent Act-Public Place and Fail To comply with Probation.
On May 28, 2020 West Grey Police were on general patrol in Durham when they observed a vehicle with stolen license plates. A traffic stop was conducted and the driver, a 28 year old Meaford woman, was arrested for possession of stolen property. Further investigation revealed her to be in possession of a substantial amount of methamphetamine. The female was charged with possession of stolen property, possession of an automotive master key and possession for the purpose of trafficking in methamphetamine.
