On June 5, 2020 West Grey Police were dispatched to a residence east of Durham where a 40 year old male assaulted his father after a disagreement.  The accused was arrested charged with assault and released with conditions. He will appear in court in August to answer to the charge.

 

In the early morning hours of June 6, 2020 West Grey officers were dispatched to a dispute on Concession 14 NDR in the Municipality of West Grey. An altercation occurred between police and the occupants of the residence resulting in injuries to two police officers and one male party at the residence. A male party was arrested and charged with two counts of assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest. The injured male was transported to hospital with serious injuries.  

The Ontario Special Investigations Unit is investigating this incident and as such the West Grey Police will have no further comment.

 

On June 6, 2020 West Grey Police located a vehicle with fake license plates attached parked in front of a Durham residence. The registered owner of the vehicle could not be contacted and the vehicle was towed pending further investigation.

 

On June 8, 2020 West Grey Police were dispatched to a business in Durham for a possible theft.  A suspect was located and further investigation revealed the 33 yr old female from Grey Highlands had outstanding warrants with the Guelph Police Service.  She was arrested and transported to Guelph.

 

On June 11, 2020 West Grey Police were dispatched to a reported child abduction.  Police were able to locate the child  in good health with family.  Investigation revealed the original complainant had assaulted the child’s father and paternal grandmother who took the child because of safety concerns.  The child’s mother was charged with two counts of assault, released with conditions and will appear in court in August to answer to the charges
