On September 18, 2020 just before midnight West Grey Police were conducting a RIDE check when a vehicle was observed in what appeared to be an attempt to avoid the RIDE Check. Officers located the vehicle and a male from Meaford, who admitted to being the driver, was administered the roadside screening, the male failed the roadside screening device and was placed under arrest and transported to the West Grey office. The accused provided two readings of 130 mgs and 140 mgs of alcohol per 100 mls of blood. This male was charged accordingly.
On September 20, 2020 just before midnight West Grey Police were on routine patrol when they observed a vehicle make a u turn on the crest of a hill and a traffic stop was initiated. The driver of the vehicle was found to be a prohibited driver. He was arrested, charged with Driving while Prohibited and released from police custody with a court date in November.
On September 22nd a male party from Mississauga who had an outstanding arrest warrant with West Grey Police Service, attended the station and turned himself in. He was released and will appear in court in December to answer to charges of breaching conditions of a previous release.
On September 24, 2020 West Grey Police received a report of license plates stolen off a vehicle parked in a driveway on Garafraxa St S in Durham, The Investigation in this matter is ongoing.
