During the week of February 18 to February 25, 2021 the West Grey Police Service responded to 79 total calls for service.
Officers responded to 4 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 11 Police Assistance and 5 Suspicious Person Reports and also provided assistance to other emergency services on 5 occasions.
Uniform and Criminal Investigations Unit continue to investigate a commercial Break and Enter that occurred in Bentinck Township, West Grey during this week.
On February 21, 2021 a 23-year-old male from Durham, West Grey was arrested and charged with Theft Under $ 5000.00, Possession of Stolen Property Under $ 5000.00 and Resist arrest. This is the 5th time police have arrested the individual in recent weeks. The accused in currently remanded in custody pending a bail hearing.
On February 22, 2021 a 29-year-old male from Walkerton was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Drive Over .08. The male had his vehicle impounded for 7 days, his driver’s license suspended for 90 days and was later released on an Undertaking to appear in Walkerton Court.
On February 23, 2021 a 30-year-old male from West Grey was arrested on an outstanding warrant for failing to comply with the conditions of a previous release order. The male was later released and will appear in Walkerton Court.
