Weekly Media Release
During the week of March 18 to March 25, 2021 the West Grey Police Service responded to 81 total calls for service.
Officers responded to 10 Traffic Complaints / Enforcements, 14 Police Assistance and 12 Suspicious Person Reports. Officers also provided assistance and de-escalation at 5 Mental Health Act calls.
Criminal Investigations Unit made arrests on two outstanding incidents and thank the Community for their support in bringing two persons to justice:
- Break and Enter Suspect Arrested – On March 25, 2021 a 20-year-old male from Owen Sound turned himself in to WGPS after being spot lighted on Social Media. The accused faces one count of Break, Enter and Commit Theft. He was later released and will appear in Walkerton Court.

- Theft of Motor Vehicle Suspect Arrested – On March 19, 2021 a 33-year-old male from West Grey was arrested and faces two counts of Theft of Motor Vehicle. He was released from custody on conditions and will appear in Walkerton Court.
On March 23, 2021 uniformed officers along with Criminal Investigations Unit attended a residence in Durham and arrested a 38-year-old male wanted for Theft by Hanover Police Service along with a 34-year-old male wanted for Breach of Probation with South Bruce OPP. Both were transported to neighbouring police services without incident.
