During the week of December 23 – 30, 2021, the West Grey Police Service responded to 60 total calls for service.
Officers responded to 3 Traffic Complaints / Enforcements with 5 Motor Vehicle Collisions, 9 Police Assistance complaints. Officers attended at 4 Family / Domestic Disputes. Police provided assistance and de-escalation at 3 Mental Health Act calls while also responding to 2 – 911 calls and assisting paramedics / fire 2 times. West Grey officers prevented 1 Breach of the Peace situations and executed 3 Arrest warrants.

December 24, 2021 – Domestic Assault – On Friday December 24, 2021 West Grey Police were called to an address in Bentinck Township after witnesses saw a woman being assaulted by a male on the roadway.
Officers located the suspect and effected the arrest. The female victim was transported to hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
A 37-year old male from West Grey has been charged with:
- Assault Cause Bodily Harm
- Fail to Comply with Undertaking
Police held the accused for Bail Hearing, but was later released by the Ontario Court of Justice.
R.I.D.E. – West Grey Police have conducted R.I.D.E. spot checks everyday throughout the holidays.
903 Vehicles have been stopped this week and we are very happy to report 0 impaired drivers.
We will continue to be out in full force for the rest of the holiday season, but remember – R.I.D.E. season never ends.
