Impaired Driving – On Monday February 21, 2022 West Grey Police were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check on Grey Road 4 in the Municipality of West Grey. An approaching vehicle did a U-turn to avoid the spot check. Officers located and stopped the vehicle being driven by a 37-year old female of West Grey. The driver failed a roadside test. She was given an immediate drivers license suspension and vehicle was impounded.
Fail to Stop / Warrant – On Tuesday February 22, 2022 West Grey Police observed a vehicle being operated by a known wanted person. A traffic stop was initiated, but the driver failed to stop for police and fled the area. A warrant has been sought for a 28-year old male of Hanover. Once arrested he will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Walkerton, Ontario.
Assault / Assault Police / Domestic – On Tuesday February 22, 2022 West Grey Police were called to an address in Durham in response to a 911 – Domestic Assault in progress. Upon arrival the victim had fled the residence. Officers arrived at the scene, located and arrested the suspect who had been released by the courts weeks earlier for similar offences. The victim was transported to SBGHC for non-life threatening injuries. Two officers suffered minor injuries during the arrest.
36-year old Kyle WOODMAN of Cambridge was arrested and is charged with:
- Assault
- Assault with a weapon
- Forcible Confinement
- Overcome resistance by suffocating
- Fail to comply with release order (2 counts)
- Assault Peace Officer (2 Counts)
- Resist Police officer
- Escape Lawful Custody
The accused was held for Bail Hearing and remains in police custody.
Domestic / Mischief / Fail to Comply – On Wednesday February 23, 2022 police were called to a Durham address in response to a Domestic Dispute. As a result of investigation a 58-year old female of Durham was arrested and charged with:
- Assault
- Mischief
- Fail to Comply with Recognizance
The accused was processed and later released. She will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton, Ontario at a later date.
