May 15, 2022- Weapons Call / Mental Health – West Grey Police were called to an address in Durham after receiving a report of a person in distress with a firearm. As police arrived a shot was fired by the person in distress. Police and family were able to subdue the male and secure the weapon without causing further harm to the individual.
An 81-year old male from West Grey was arrested and has been charged with:
- Utter Threats (spousal)
- Possession of Weapon Dangerous.
The male was transported to hospital for assessment and will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton at a later date.
May 15, 2022 – Theft / Mischief / Break and Enter – West Grey Police were called to multiple addresses in the Elgin Street/ Saddler Street area of Durham after a rash of overnight Break, Enter and Thefts. Officers from Uniformed and Criminal Investigations Branch (C.I.B.) along with help from the public identified the suspect.
An 18-year old male from West Grey later turned himself in to police and was arrested and has been charged with:
- Theft Under $ 5,000.00 (with further charges pending).
The accused was processed and later released on an Undertaking with Conditions. He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton at a later date.
Investigation is ongoing as police are seeking a second suspect involved in these incidents.
