During the week of April 20 – 27, 2023 – the West Grey Police Service responded to 77 total calls for service including –

- 3 – Sudden death
- 3 – Suspicious person / vehicle

Assault – On Friday April 21, 2023 officers were called to investigate a domestic assault between former intimate partners. As a result of the investigation a Young Person has been charged under the Youth Criminal Justice Act with:
- Assault
No further information can be released regarding this incident.
Theft – On Sunday April 23, 2023 police were called to a shoplifting complaint at a local grocery store. A group of people entered the store and at least one person stole food items valued at less than
$ 5,000.00.
A similar incident occurred in Saugeen Shores earlier that day.
As result of video evidence and investigation a warrant for arrest has been sought against a person from Quebec.
Theft / Fraud – In June of 2022 West Grey Police began an investigation after a local business noticed money missing from their accounts.
Police interviewed dozens of witnesses and learned that money was paid to the managers of the business, but those payments were diverted to their own personal accounts.
On The married couple, both from Collingwood are each charged with:
- Adult – Theft Over $ 5,000
- Adult – Fraud Over $ 5,000
Both persons were processed and later released. They will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice – Walkerton at a later date.
