On December 19, 2023 an officer with the West Grey Police Service conducted a traffic stop due for an unrelated Highway Traffic Act offence. The driver was found to be driving while his license was suspended and the owner, who was a passenger was found to have allowed the vehicle to be driven without insurance.

Both parties were charged accordingly and were given court dates to attend and answer to the charges.

On December 25, 2023 officers attended an address in Durham for a keep the peace incident. A male party at the premises was investigated and determined to be wanted on an outstanding warrant with OPP.  He was arrested and turned over to the  custody of the Ontario Provincial Police.

During the reporting period West Grey officers conducted 6 different RIDE checks and 466 vehicles were stopped.  30 roadside tests were conducted.  We are happy to state that no one was found to be driving with more than the legal limit of alcohol in their system.  We appreciate the responsible drivers on our roads this holiday season.
