On June 18, 2024 West Grey officers responded to a 911 hang up call at a residence north of Durham.   A 43 year old man who was on conditions not to attend that address or contact the resident had been there and fled when officers arrived.  He was located, arrested and charged with failing to comply with a release order and impaired operation of a motor vehicle offences.  He was released to a surety after a bail hearing.  Additionally a  37 year old female was charged with obstructing a police officer when she interfered in officers’ initial attempt to investigate and arrest the fleeing male.


On June 24, 2024 West Grey officers were conducting RIDE in the town of Durham.  A 26 year old male driver from Chatsworth was stopped, failed the roadside demand, was transported to the station and subsequently blew over 80 on the intoxilyzer.  His vehicle was towed and impounded, his license was suspended and he will appear in court later this month to answer to the charges.


On June 28, 2024 West Grey officers responded to a domestic dispute on Highway 6 in West Grey. Investigation determined a 25 year old female was the aggressor in the altercation and she was charged with assault and released on conditions to not contact or be near the 25 year old male victim.  She will appear in court later this month.


On June 30, 2024 West Grey officer received a 911 call and responded to an address in the former Glenelg to find a 21 year old male had broken a window attempting to enter the residence of his former partner who did not want him at the residence.  He was arrested, charged with Mischief and held for bail.  He was subsequently released on conditions and will appear in court in august to answer to the charges.


In the early morning hours of July 2, 2024 a West Grey officer stopped a vehicle he observed pull a U turn on Grey Rd 4 and then swerving over the centre lane.  The 27 year old male driver from Owen Sound showed signs of impairment and failed the roadside demand.  He was transported to the West Grey police station and subsequent breath tests showed he had well over the legal limit of blood alcohol content.  He was charged accordingly, his license was suspended  and his vehicle was towed and impounded.  He was also charged with speeding and having open liquor while driving.  His court date is later this month.
