During the month of September West Grey Police Service responded to 410 calls for service, these included residential alarms, insecure premises and frauds.

September 4th, 2025
Theft – Warrant Sought

On September 4th, 2025 at approximately 10:00pm police received a report of a theft in progress at a rural address in Glenelg township. The victim stated 4 males had attended his residence in a pick-up truck with an attached trailer. The suspects began to try doors on out-buildings, located an unlocked garage door, opened it and removed a tractor. The tractor was loaded on the trailer and the suspects had fled the address in under 6 minutes.

Through extensive investigation police were able to identify the suspect and as a result there is a warrant to arrest a 23-year-old male from Norwich. The male is aware of his current warrant and has not turned himself into police.



September 13th, 2025
Neighbour Dispute

On September 13th, 2025 at approximately 2:00am police were called to an address for a report of a disturbance outside a residence. Police were met by a large group of intoxicated persons who advised that an altercation had broken out between 3 females. The suspect female had attended her residence and returned to the continuing fight with a wooden baseball bat. The suspect female had swung the bat at several other witnesses on scene and was eventually disarmed by a male witness. While attempting to disarm the suspect, the male witness was bit twice and received medical care. The male witness was able to separate all three females just prior to police arrival.

The suspect was arrested and as a result, a 19-year-old female from West Grey was charged with the following:
Adult – Assault With a Weapon
Adult – Assault
Adult – Breach of Recognizance

The female was released by way of Undertaking and will be seen before the Ontario Court of Justice Walkerton at a later date.



September 19th 2025
Theft of Motor Vehicle

On September 19th, 2025 at 9:00am police responded to a report from a local business owner that an unknown male had been seen attempting to enter vehicles on his property. Police attended the scene and located the male suspect a running vehicle at the end of the laneway. Police ordered the male suspect to turn the vehicle off and exit the vehicle. The male eventually exited the vehicle and was placed under arrest

As a result of this occurrence a 41-year-old male of West Grey has been charged with the following:
Adult – Theft of a Motor Vehicle
Adult – Possession of Property Obtained by Crime
Adult – Operation While Prohibited
Adult – Fail to Comply With Release Order

The male was seen before the Ontario Court of Justice Walkerton and was remanded into custody, where he remains.
