During the week of February 17th – 24th officers responded to 109 calls for service.
On February 19th officers responded to a rural property for a break and enter in progress. The home was damaged and several items taken. Three males from West Grey were arrested at the scene and charged accordingly. All three males appeared in the Ontario Court of Justice, Walkerton.
On February 23rd while conducting a traffic stop on two suspicious vehicles in the town of Durham police detected an odour of alcohol on one of the driver’s breaths and through the course of interaction with the other driver, determined both to be impaired by alcohol.
The first male driver provided a sample of his breath into an approved screening device (ASD) and registered a FAIL. The male driver was then arrested and transported to the station, where he provided a breath sample that registered 150mgs of alcohol in 100mls of blood, almost twice the legal limit. This male driver was charged accordingly.
The second male driver refused the approved screening device and was uncooperative with police. This male driver was arrested for failure to comply with a demand made by a peace officer.
